Let it snow!!!

Holy Cow!!!! It started snowing yesterday around 7:00 in the morning and has not stopped since. There is about two feet of snow here. Crazy enough I was able to make it to work this morning, but the roads were terrible! I was there for only a couple of hours until we decided to cancel this afternoon appointments and go home before the roads got worse, cuz it's still snowing hard. So I thought I wasn't going to make it out of the parking lot at work but was finally able to. They don't plow the roads here very well. So I have never driven on roads that are this crazy!

Man they were so bad that even Blake's last final was canceled. I couldn't believe it cuz before finals started the school sent out an email that said that they were not going to cancel finals for bad weather so you needed to make the necessary arrangements to get there cuz there were no make-ups either. So he was happy that he is done for now. They said that they would make-up the final after Christmas break sometime. So he is FREE!!! yeah!! He has never been so relieved! I am suppose to work tomorrow morning but if it keeps snowing like this there is no way I will be able to make it. I just hope that it clears up before Saturday cuz that's the day we fly home.

Christmas

We don't have very many Christmas decorations but we decided that it was okay for now since we really won't be here for Christmas anyway. But we did put up the tree and I have to say that even though it is small I love that it is pre-lit and we were able to fit it back into its original box which was amazing. Our friend Rachel showed me how to make home made ornaments. It was so fun and easy to do. All it takes is two cups of flour and a cup of salt, add water and food coloring to make it like playdough and make whatever you want. Then bake it at 300 degree for about 25 mins. I made some mini stockings, a reindeer, and my favorite a little snowman. You should try it! It was way fun!

It's Freezing!!!

Man! These last couple of days have been the coldest I have ever experienced. I thought living in Utah I had felt cold weather, but man it seems to be even colder here. The high today was 3 degrees! And to make matters worse there is a wind chill that makes it seem like it is -20 degrees. The wind is blowing at 10-20 mph and it is the kind of wind that chills you to the bone!. I was watching the news last night and they were talking about warming centers for the homeless being over crowded and I can't even imagine living outside at these temperatures. They were saying that at night your skin could freeze in a matter of minutes! And those who know me know that I hate being cold. So everyday when I get home I throw on a warm sweatshirt and comfy pants and sit under my electric blanket all night. The heater is always going in our apartment. Funny story, there was some cold air leaking through our air conditioning system so Blake had the brilliant idea of using that Glad press n' seal stuff and he covered the whole thing! It is funny to see it but it seems to work. Now we are trying to figure out how to keep air from coming through the outside doors. So if you have any bright ideas like Blake did let us know!!

Happy Birthday to us!!

This year I have been so excited for the best birthday present ever! I get to come home! Since Lacey's birthday is only 4 days before mine we have always celebrated our birthdays together. I don't know if I loved this when we were young but now I do. It's something special that Lacey and I get to share every year! So Happy Birthday to us!

Our crazy Halloween Pics

We decided to try to be creative and find something around the house to make a costume and Blake came up with the idea that we could dress up in each others PJs and be bed heads. So I did my hair crazy bad and we put zit cream on Blakes face. It turned out horrible but that was the main idea!

PUMPKIN CARVING

We wanted to carry on the tradition of pumpkin carving so after Blake got done with his homework for the night we broke out our carving tools and went to work. We have a Halloween party tomorrow and they are going to have a contest to see who has the best carved pumpkin. We are definitely going to win!

Halloween

Well I can't believe that Halloween is coming up. I am sad that we will miss Curt and Lexie's fabulous pumpkin carving night. That was definitely my favorite thing at Halloween time! Curt always chooses the hardest pumpkin design and takes forever carving it but it always turns out so cool. So good luck Curt and I want to see pictures.

Trisha and Jake are throwing a party on Halloween night and it is a costume party. I have no idea what we are going to do. I don't want to spend too much on a costume so I told Blake that we could just get toilet paper and be mummies but I could tell that was not what he wanted to do. So if anyone has a good idea on what we could be that would be very helpful.

Amy's new job

Well I have been here for over two months now so I guess it was about time that I got a job. I interviewed at a couple of different offices and was able to get a receptionist position at Phipp's orthodontics. I am really excited to be doing what I was before, although I do have to say that I miss working for my dad!. I really like the people I work with but they do think that I am pretty weird cuz I don't drink alcohol or coffee. They found out that I was turning 21 in November so they wanted to take me out to different bars on my birthday but I told them that I didn't drink, so they said well that is okay we can take you to get sushi and I said that I wasn't a fish person either! Man they thought I was pretty lame! oh well they are nice anyway.

I work 4 days a week usually Mon-Thurs. on Mondays we work 9-6 with a one hour break and on the other days we work 7:30-4:30, Tuesdays I even get a 2 hour lunch break. And yes it is early! But things are going well. I even found out that the Dr. is going to London over Christmas to visit his daughter and is taking 2 weeks off! YA!!! so I will be able to have a long Christmas vacation!(Going home is now the best vacation ever!!!)

Heroes Weekend

Our friends that live a couple of doors down from us got us addicted to heroes! We have gone crazy! Last weekend Blake came home and was done. He said that all he wanted to do was to sit there and never have to read again. So we were couch potatoes and ended up watching the first whole season of Heroes. It was awesome! We now are extremely addicted and are almost done with the second season. I don't know what we are going to do when we get caught up and have to start watching only one a week. If you haven't watched the series it always ends with a "to be continued" right at the climax! Oh its a killer so we end up always watching more than we think that we will. But it has been crazy fun. Love you all and miss you TONS!!

A Day at the Lake

Blake Skiing

We were able to go boating with Rachel & Kevin and Trish & Jake yesterday and it was way fun!! Kevin's family ha a cabin by Twin Lake that was about 2 and a half hours away from here. So we left Friday night after Blake got done with school. We enjoyed the night with a camp fire and smores! We had a funny experience that was kind of crazy, a rat had gotten into the cabin and it ran behind the fridge. When the lights went out it would come out and look for food. Well luckily Blake and I were on an air mattress that was about 2 feet off the ground so we were not too scared. But Trish and Jake decided to sleep in the car! We tried to trap it inside the kitchen but it really didn't work so Kevin and I stayed up half the night trying to catch it!! Unfortunately we never did. So that night was way crazy! But the next morning we had lots of fun boating at the lake. It was warm weather and the water wasn't too bad, it definitely was a shock at first but then you got used to it. You can tell we were in the sun all day because we all got burnt, especially me!! My face is bright red!! We are all feeling the pains and aches too!! It was fun though and definitely worth it!

Our New Calling!

~Well we went to the campout this weekend and ended up having a great time. We have become really close to this one couple from Arizona and another that went to BYU, and spent most our our time with them while camping. It was fun, we were even asked as a group to do a skit for the ward after dinner and so the 3 boys, Blake included did this really funny skit. It was called Making Gravy and it was just a simple script but there was a director that would have them do the skit over and over acting it out differently. For instance they had to do it all Macho, and then Jamican, and then Cheerleader style (That was by far the best! Blake was even able to do a high kick and touch his toes! I was impressed!). It was a lot of fun to see them perform. Man I wish I recorded it so you could have enjoyed it too!!

~Today Blake and I got callings in our new ward. We were called to be team teachers in primary teaching the CTR 6 class!! I was excited to be able to work with Blake again in the primary but I will miss going to Relief Society and Gospel Doctrine class. Both have been really fun! I just hope that we will be able to keep meeting new people and not be cut off from the other members because we are in primary. Don't worry mom I will reach out and continue to have a good time meeting new people.

Our New Home

OUR NEW HOME
~Well here we are in Spokane Washington!!! It is hard to believe that this is our new home! We found a cute little apartment and have been busy putting it together! Blake has already started law school and feeling the pressure of staying on top of his reading!! He came home after only 3 days of school and said that it had been the longest week of his life! So we are in for a nice ride! At least he finds the readings interesting or we would really be in trouble!

~I had to speak in sacrament meeting last Sunday, just me they said that they stopped having couples speaking together, but at least my turn is over! Our ward is great already. We have made friends and are having fun out here. I joined a walking club and every weekday morning we go walking in the morning about 4 miles! Man those first couple of times kicked my butt! I was so sore!! But it is nice to socialize and become more a part of the ward!

~This weekend we are planning to go on a ward camp out with some of the new couples that we are becoming close to. Although we are not very big campers, we are excited and I will have to let you know how things go!!

Crabbing in Oregon!!

We just went to Oregon with my family in the beginning of August!! We had such a fun time! We went on a sand dune ride which was crazy fun and went to the beach. Man that water was freezing cold!! It is definitely not Florida water! Our favorite thing that we did was crabbing!! We rented a couple of boats and went out in the bay area and took the crabbing rings and baited them with chicken pieces and then threw them in the water. You had to go before it got high tide to find the best crabbing areas. Our first trip we caught over 20 keepers!! It was way fun!

Our California Trip

Our California trip was way fun!! It was to celebrate Blake graduating and getting his bachelors degree in Communications at the University of Utah!! Good job Blake!!! We spent about 3 days there and went to Disneyland!!! Whoever said that you could out grow Disneyland was way wrong!! It was way fun riding all those little kid rides! Our favorite ride had to be the Buzz light year ride and we went on it about 20 times!! It was crazy fun trying to out score each other! We felt like little kids again!!
