Daddy's Girls

So I was looking through some old baby pics of me and Blake and our girls both look just like their daddy. I laughed because I found pics that make them look identical...see for yourselves

Terrible twos

So here's a story that sums up what I am dealing with Jay's terrible twos...
I put Emery down for a nap but she woke up after only sleeping for a half hour so I put on a show for Jay and went into the nursery to feed and get Em back to sleep. It was quiet for about 10 mins and then Jay walked in...I motioned for her to be quiet cuz Em was mostly alseep and she got that look in her eye like ya right. She started out singing softly which grew louder so I explained that if she would just give me a minute to put Emery down then I would be able to play with her. She looked at me for a sec and then turned and walked out of the room. I thought wow that went well, then I heard something coming down the hall. Jay showed up with a laundry basket and a wooden spoon, she turned the basket over and started beating it like a drum. Oh man, I was so mad I put Em down (she of coarse was wide awake now) and threw Jaylee into timeout. This girl is going to kill me!

FrEeZiNg!!!!!

So I thought...sure I know what cold weather is, I mean I lived in Utah right. There we get snow and occasionally during the winter it falls below the 30's. I was wrong!!! That's not cold, that's warm compared to what I am dealing with, and they even say that this winter has been super mild! Man it will say is 20 degrees outside but with the wind chill and the humidity it feels like 1 or 2 degrees. And it's that cold that just goes right through you. Oh man! I thought I hated the cold in Utah but now I really hate it;) Most of the time we just hibernate inside, especially when it's just me and the girls but after a day or two of that we all get stir-crazy and need to do something. Luckily the children's museum and the library are right down the street, so we try to keep busy.

My mom was able to come visit which was super nice. Blake works long hours and I find myself needing some adult interaction, especially after a day that Jay has drove me absolutely crazy! She was such a big help and the girls loved having someone new to play with and look at;) We took her and the girls to see disney on ice which Jay loved (Emery was not to sure about the lights and loud sounds).
Lacey even came for the holiday weekend too! Yay! We were able to finally go into the city and see where Blake works and boy did Jaylee love that! She sat at his desk for 20 mins saying she was doing her work, it was cute. We also checked out the awesome aquarium they had. It is a lot better than the aquarium in Utah, haha.

The Windy City

Well our next adventure has begun here in the Windy City of Chicago. The first couple of weeks were rough, but I think we are finally getting used to our new life now. Blake is happy to have us to come home to, and we are happy to be a family again. The girls and I are trying to figure out how to fill our days so that we can keep busy. Luckily we live close to the library, children's I museum, and the YMCA where we signed Jay up for a wacky wiggles class that she absolutely loves. They have a swimming pool at the Y too so we are looking forward to doing that there too with Blake on the weekends. We live in a really nice area and our ward is great. Jaylee stayed in the second part of nursery by herself which for those who know her was huge! The ladies in there are amazing!!! She really enjoys being there "with all my friends" as she says it. I can tell that she gets bored with it just being Emery and me all day, so any chance to be with other kids is a real treat for her. Chick-fil-a had become our favorite place to eat because of the play place the have and the new friends she gets to play with;)
